"These jewel-like paintings intuitively fuse different aesthetic traditions, folk art and old master, with natural grace and an uncanny quality that may be a species of magic." —American Arts Quarterly
Two small works inspired by Shakespeare, summer, lasting love and ephemeral beauty… now available at the Meyer Gallery, Santa Fe.
“Hand with W.S.’s Sonnet 18”
7×5 inches, oil on panel
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate: Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer’s lease hath all too short a date: Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimm’d; And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimm’d; But thy eternal summer shall not fade Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st; Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st; So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
~ By William Shakespeare
“The Birds and The Bees”
7 x 5 inches, oil on panel
I am very happy to announce my upcoming show “Flora and Fauna” at Meyer Gallery in Santa Fe running from September 16 thru September 22. It is the only show I am doing this year and the first works are now available at the gallery.
As the show title “Flora and Fauna” suggests, the works will be celebrating images from the botanical, zoological and ornithological worlds. Stay tuned for more paintings posted as they become available.
“The Songbird” 8 x 6 inches, oil on panel
“Hand with Roses and Lover’s Eye” 7.75 x 5.75 inches, oil on panel
I am pleased to announce my upcoming solo exhibition “The Sublime Vignette” at the Meyer Gallery in Park City, Utah. Please join us for the opening reception on December 26, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. I so look forward to celebrating and meeting with you.
p.s. Apologies in advance for an incomplete preview. I am still painting (to the last minute as has become my habit). However I will announce the completed preview when it becomes available. Thank you so much for your patience.
